Work capsule wardrobe for under £500

Whether you are going back to work after having children or simply bored of your work wardrobe creating a capsule versatile collection makes getting ready in the morning easy. If you are returning from maternity leave into an existing role it can be even harder as it is difficult to make a new first impression. If you manage a team of people or want to send out a certain message your clothes become essential in doing that for you.

More and more companies are adopting a smart casual dress code, but that can mean so many things depending on the industry! To make things as simple as possible for all the new Mums, 2nd time Mums or simply stuck in a boring place with your work wardrobe I have put together all the essential pieces you need for a work capsule wardrobe.

What is a capsule wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe is a number of versatile mix and match pieces. The idea behind a capsule wardrobe is you declutter your wardrobe, spend less because you buy items that are versatile and you wear 100% of your wardrobe.

I have shortlisted items that should be in EVERY work wardrobe. I have focused on a spring/summer work wardrobe but some pieces are trans-seasonal so should take you through all year. And the best thing is…….. THERE IS NO BLACK! Within your capsule wardrobe select a few key statement pieces that you can build around. The colour palette I have opted for is blues, pale yellows and whites, it doesn’t get much fresher than this! Thinking about your colour palette is essential with any capsule wardrobe, every item has to work together in unison. I have selected pieces that are on the high street right now, you will not believe how much you can get for your money and still have some change left over!
